“I could fill a 5 minute song with all the reasons why you suck…”

We had plenty of time to get cozy at the airport.

An extremely turbulent, hand-hold inducing plane ride followed by a few nerve-calming greyhounds at our favorite establishment, and Kiki and I were ready to face 15 appointments packed into 3 short days. We swooned over seasoned favorites like Rag&Bone, Simon Miller and Billykirk, while scoping out up and comers we can’t wait to add to the Atticus family. We drank 27 pitchers of margaritas (it was 90 degrees!), hustled our way through the city exchanging our usual angel/devil roles and thanks to generous friends, found enough room in our cozy guest bed for a gigantic box fan.

Not even a rerouted flight and 9 hour rental car ride from Indianapolis could squelch our excitement. Luckily, we can’t spare a second pinning over our New York love because we’ve got orders to write and an incredible party to plan. As always, stay tuned!

What Are You Wearing?

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Thanks to a ridiculous amount of rain shutting down the Milwaukee airport and stranding my sister overnight, I got the opportunity to raid her closet this morning. Today I’m wearing:

-Charlotte Ronson Pleated Shorts

-Basic black tank

-Trovata Viola Tank

-Dolce Vita booties

-Assortment of House of Harlow, Giles&Brother and Erica Weiner jewelry

What are you wearing?

Site Crush: svpply.com

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

An ADD-afflicted procrastinator’s dream come dream (or worst nightmare), we stumbled across svpply.com because a darling member posted an item from our site.

Hailed as a “retail bookmarking and recommendation service,” svpply is an infinity of beautiful objects, satiating our desire to be constantly surrounded with the exquisite, while simultaneously evoking unparalleled lust. We can either quit our jobs and take up dredging the depths of online retail or simply visit the site’s edited to perfection offerings. It’s invitation only exclusivity only makes us want it that much more.

So what do you say, svpply? We’re not trying to put a ring on this finger, but how about a drink and we’ll play it by ear? If say, an invite were extended to [email protected], we promise to make it worth your while.

Summer To-Do List

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Inspired by the ever adorable Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere, I set about creating my own version of summer rules. Here’s what I’ve decided on so far…what’s on your agenda this summer?

  • Go to a baseball game
  • See a play in the outdoor theatre
  • Over-indulge in my official drink of the summer, ‘the model behavior’: vodka, soda and ½ an Emergen-C packet
  • Emerge unscathed (no twisted ankles, no accidental over-exposure) from my perfect summer outfit: a silk playsuit and a proper pair of sky-high wedges
  • Treat my standing brunch dates instead of it always being the other way around
  • Finish painting, hanging, framing and sawing (yes, sawing!) the projects around my house I put off all winter
  • Hop on the boat every chance I get
  • Attend every dance party humanly possible. Or at least wear myself into exhaustion in an attempt to do so.
  • Listen to a bedtime story
  • Take the beach cruisers for a spin with a six-pack and try not to make Bobbie regret going with me by refraining from complaining every other second (what’s this weird feeling in my legs B? Ummm…I think that’s called physical activity)
  • Sneak into the park after midnight and make out under the stars. Again.
  • Plan my fall vacation. Fingers crossed for surf camp in Costa Rica.
